Marina Beach :This
beach is counted among one of the longest beaches
in Asia. Its 12-km
long stretch was made beautiful by the wonderful
facelift given by Governor Mountstuart Elphinstone
Grant Duff in the early 1880's, and is a major
tourist attraction today. Marina beach is located
on the
eastern side of Chennai, adjoining the Bay of
Bengal. Bathing and swimming can be dangerous, as
the undercurrent
is very strong. In the evenings, the beach is
virtually a fair ground with various kinds of entertainment
and food stalls lining the beach.With its natural
sandy beauty and spacious promenade and beautiful
gardens, the beach is a major attraction for

Kanyakumari Beach : At the southern
most tip of India, where the Arabian Sea, the Indian
Ocean and the Bay of Bengal meet, lies Kanyakumari
,famous for its spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
With long stretches of sands of many hues, the beach offers a welcome change.
The seashore is rocky and dangerous, and there is a manmade wall running along
it. There is also a lighthouse from where one can get a panoramic view. Prime

The Kovalam Beach : An al time favorite

minutes. Even dolphins are spotted here occasionally.

Murudeshwar offers, an out -of -this -world view
of the sea from the hill by the shore. The beautiful

largely undiscovered and un spoilt.

Malpe : Malpe with its sheltered harbor makes a quiet beach retreat. Right across

ANDHRAPRADESH
Ramakrishna Beach and Lawson's Bay : Visakhapatnam
and its environs present a magnificent vista of golden
beaches. Lush green vegetation and splendid monuments
form a rich legacy.
Rishikonda Beach : A yellow, unspoiled beach, washed by the sun-warmed sea, Rishikonda is ideal
for swimmers, water skiers, and wind surfers.
Bheemunipatnam Beach : located at the mouth of the river Gosthani which was once a Dutch settlement,
the ruins of a fort and cemetery are still intact. The beach is very safe
for swimmers. The journey between Visakhapatnam to Bheemunipatnam is a bracing
one.
Manginapudi Beach : Manginapudi
deserves its importance partly from its scenic beauty
and partly from being a historic port city. The beach
possesses a natural bay and comparatively
shallow and safe waters. A beautifully laid park with a fountain enhances its

Mypad Beach : a fine sandy beach. A determined sea lover will find it stunningly appealing
with lush green vegetation providing an enchanting backdrop to the sunny

GOA
Anjuna Beach: Anjuna, 18 kms from Panaji is
a popular beach area adjacent to Chapora fort- it
was the haunt of the flower generation in the sixties
- and is still popular with the younger generation.
Calangute Beach: Calangute is the beach to
which everyone heads for the moment they land in
Goa. So it is natural that it is overcrowded in both
in peak and off seasons.
Dona Paula Beach: 7 kms from Panaji. An idyllic
picturesque spot. Command a fine view of the Zuari
river and Mormugao Harbour. Water scootering facilities
are available here.
